Titans Surge Late to Defeat Essex, 90–73

Randolph, NJ-The County College of Morris Titans delivered an impressive all-around performance on their home floor Tuesday night, defeating Essex County College 90–73 in Randolph. With balanced scoring, efficient shooting, and a strong second half, Morris controlled the game from start to finish to secure the double-digit victory.

Morris entered halftime with a 34–29 advantage, but it was the second half where the Titans truly separated themselves. Outscoring Essex 56–44 over the final 20 minutes, Morris pushed the tempo, attacked the rim, and capitalized on opponent turnovers to pull away.

Essex, despite the loss, had several standout individual efforts. Ethan Laquindanum led all scorers with 24 points, shooting an impressive 11-for-17 from the field and adding 4 assists and 3 steals. Jaden Reid provided energy on both ends with 4 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 steals, while Rodney Willis Jr. added an efficient 10 points and 7 rebounds in the frontcourt.

The Wolverines also received scoring contributions from Jason Martinez (11 points) and Christian Hampton (9 points), but struggled with three-point shooting (3-for-16) and free-throw efficiency (8-for-23), leaving valuable points off the board.

Essex worked hard on the glass, pulling down 28 total rebounds, but Morris' pace and execution proved too much down the stretch. Despite flashes of strong ball movement and defensive pressure, Essex couldn't overcome the Titans' second-half surge.

Essex drops to 73 points on 48.4% shooting overall but will look to regroup as they continue their season schedule.

Essex will look to bounce back at home on Dec. 2nd on Tuesday at 7:00 PM when they host Middlesex College.
