Penic Leads Wolverines to First Region XIX Win

Newark, NJ | In a commanding performance, Essex CC shut out Lackawanna College 8 - 0, delivering a sweep across the stat sheet from start to finish. 

The scoring barrage began early, with Milomir Cvoric opening the scoring at 6th minute. Before the half, Kristijan Penic added a second in the 26th minute, assisted by Cvoric and Roland Kabore made it 3-0 in the 38th minute before halftime. 

As soon as the second half started, Essex continued dominating possession which led to Niklas Petz scoring the 4th goal and the first of his collegiate career in the 49th minute. Penic struck again in the 51st minute and then 10 minutes later he secured the hat trick to push the lead to 6-0. The scoring affair continued freshman, Marques McDonald converted in the 65th minute. The scoring affair concluded when freshman Mateo Merced scored in the 75th minute to make it 8 - 0. 

As a team the Wolverines put up a total of 26 shots, 16 on goal. Schneider Barron faced 3 shots on goal, making 3 saves to keep the clean sheet. 

The men return to action Saturday, October 4th when they travel to Mercer CCC for another Region XIX matchup.
