Two Lady Wolverines Earn Women’s Soccer First Team All-Region Honors
Newark, NJ - The Essex County College Wolverines women's soccer team earned well-deserved recognition this season, with Martine Joazard and Xiomara Rivera each being named to the 2025 First Team All-Region honors for their outstanding performances throughout the year.
Sophomore forward Martine Joazard was a consistent offensive threat for the Wolverines, scoring 6 goals and adding 2 assists for 14 total points across 11 matches. A high-volume shooter with 42 shots on the season, Joazard's persistence and attacking mindset kept opposing defenses under pressure in every game. Her ability to create scoring opportunities made her one of the team's most reliable players.
Freshman midfielder Xiomara Rivera also turned in a strong campaign, finishing with 6 goals and 6 assists for 18 total points in 11 starts. Rivera showcased excellent playmaking ability and vision, leading the team with 2 game-winning goals and maintaining a .250 shot percentage. Her combination of creativity and energy in the midfield was instrumental in Essex's success this season.
