Newark, NJ | In a strong performance across the board, Essex CC secured a convincing 4-0 victory over Lackawanna College - striking early, maintaining control, and keeping a clean sheet.
Essex fired 16 shots, with 13 on goal, and was able to turn 4 of those in goals. The attack was well distributed, racking up 4 assists in the process.
Leading the charge was Sophomore Ilana Lashley, whom contributed 6 shots on goal converting one of them. Lashley was also distributing the ball well as she added on 2 assists on the day. Freshman Martine Joazard continues her impactful season contributing 3 shots and scoring once. Freshman, Stephanie Mendoza had an excellent game as she tallied 1 shot, 1 goal and 1 assist.
In her second game of the season, Taytana Hendricks scored her first collegiate goal to extend the lead to 4-0.
Xiomara Rivera was another key factor for the Wolverines as she put up 3 shots, 2 on goal and recorded an assist.
The Wolverines were able to find four different goal scorers and had multiple players contributing to the offensive build-up.
The women return to action Saturday, October 4th when they travel to Mercer CCC for another Region XIX game.
