Newark, NJ - Essex County College's women's basketball team fell 86–59 to #4 nationally ranked Union County College yesterday, marking their first loss of the season. Despite the setback, the Wolverines showed determination and flashes of strong play against one of the nation's top programs.
Sophomore guards Mia Marie Thomas and Aniya Brown each contributed 12 points, while freshman center Essence Cushionberry added 11 points in the effort.
The team will look to regroup as they face another Region 19 Conference opponent, Salem CCC, on Saturday, November 22nd at 12:00 pm right here in the Cleo Hill Gymnasium.
