Wolverines Power Through Last Chance Twilight with Podium Finishes and PR's
Mahwah, New Jersey — The Essex County College Men's Track & Field team delivered several strong performances Friday Mat 8th at the Last Chance Twilight Meet hosted by Ramapo College, highlighted by event titles, personal bests, and momentum heading into the postseason.
Sophomore Iddrisu Musah led the way in the sprints, capturing first place in the 100 meters with a blazing time of 10.67. Musah followed that performance with another podium finish in the 200 meters, taking second overall in 21.33.
Sophomore Raziel O'Meally continued his strong season with two personal-best performances. O'Meally placed eighth in the 200 meters with a new PR of 22.74 before returning in the 400 meters to finish sixth overall in another personal-best time of 51.57.
In the men's 400 meters, sophomore Issah Abdul Rahaman turned in one of the top performances of the night, finishing third overall in a personal-best 49.99.
Freshman Matthew Grano added another solid showing for the Wolverines in the 1500 meters, placing fifth with a time of 4:14.65.
Iddrisu Musah, with his performances continuing to trend upward at the perfect time, now turns his attention to the NJCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, where he will represent the Wolverines on the national stage with an opportunity to make even more noise before the season comes to a close.
The NJCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships will take place May 14–16 in Hobbs, NM. Essex County College will be represented on the national stage by sophomore sprinter Iddrisu Musah, and sophomore javelin standout Nafew Mohammed.
Mohammed enters the national meet ranked No. 5 in the NJCAA in the javelin, putting him among the top contenders in the country heading into championship weekend. Competing against the nation's best with All-American honors and national recognition on the line, the Wolverines are poised for an opportunity to turn a strong season into a memorable finish.
