Wolverines Look to Continue to Impress
Newark, NJ - The Essex County College track and field team is off to a strong start this indoor season, with impressive performances at the Knights Invitational. In the men's 60m final, Mehdi Guerrah and Razel Omeally placed 4th and 7th, respectively, while freshman Keon Tisdale achieved a personal best in the same event.
The team also excelled in the men's 400 meters, with Sanjay Weekes finishing 4th overall and setting a new personal record with a time of 50.34. Daniel Barton and Ayotunde Oyodele also delivered solid performances, finishing 7th and 15th, respectively.
In the men's 500 meters, the Essex CC mid-distance sprint team dominated, with Mehdi Gurrah and Chazz Alexander posting the 3rd and 6th fastest times in the country, respectively. Abdul Rahman also secured a top-ten finish with a time of 1:09.
Next weekend, the team will split to compete in two separate events: some will head to the Armory track in NYC, while others will compete at Franklin & Marshall in Lancaster, PA.
