Wolverines Improve to 3-0

Newark, NJ | The Wolverines find themselves 3-0 to start the year after picking up a GSAC win against Middlesex College this past Saturday. 

Lukas Laube netted the first goal of the game and of his collegiate career in the 17th minute, giving them the early lead. Middlesex College fought hard to keep the score to 1-0 at the half. Essex put up 15 shots before halftime. 

The Wolverines started the second half strong when Kristijan Penic scored his fifth goal of the season assisted by Laube. Five minutes, later Laube completed his brace, netting his second of the game. The momentum didn't slow down from there when Penic found himself on the score sheet again. The 84th minute, Essex put another one away to make it 5-0. Jeckson Rivera scored the 6th goal and the first of his collegiate career.

Essex controlled possession of the game and put up a toal of 28 shots.

The Wolverines return to action on their home turf this Wednesday, September 17th at 6:00pm when they open up Region XIX play against Mercer CCC.
